As a core device for safeguarding the safety of the elderly, the Xiaoxintong AI Guardian Tool must have the ability to operate continuously for 24 hours. It is often installed in private areas of the home such as bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as in public Spaces of elderly care institutions. This places extremely high demands on the stability, safety, battery life and installation compatibility of the power supply system.
The traditional power supply method has problems such as relying on fixed sockets, complex wiring affecting the home environment, or short battery life and frequent replacement of ordinary batteries, increasing the operational burden on the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to create a
lithium battery solution specifically customized for the Xiaoxintong device. The core requirements include: ultra-long battery life to reduce maintenance frequency, multiple safety protections to avoid risks, compact design to adapt to the device form, compatibility with emergency scenarios to ensure power supply continuity, and at the same time meet the potential needs of "no frequent operation and low maintenance cost" in the usage scenarios of the elderly.
Core selection basis for lithium batteries
Based on the power consumption characteristics and application scenarios of the Xiaoxintong device, the selection of lithium batteries is carried out around the three major principles of "performance matching, safety first, and experience optimization". The key parameters are as follows:
Capacity and voltage compatibility The core module of the equipment (voice recognition, microwave radar, wireless communication) has an average daily power consumption of approximately 5Wh. Considering emergency backup and capacity attenuation in low-temperature environments, a 11.1V/5000mAh (55.5Wh) ternary lithium battery pack is selected. At normal temperature, it can achieve continuous standby for 7 to 10 days (the equipment defaults to low-power mode). It can support 36 hours of continuous operation in high-load scenarios such as emergency alarms, meeting the requirement of "weekly maintenance".
Cycle life and attenuation control: High-quality battery cells are adopted, with a cycle life of ≥800 times (capacity retention rate ≥70%). Calculated at one charge per week, it can be stably used for 5 to 8 years, matching the overall service life of the equipment (6 to 8 years), reducing the user‘s replacement cost.
Environmental adaptability: For the low-temperature winter in the north and the humid summer in the south, wide-temperature battery cells with a working temperature range of -20℃ to 60℃ are selected. In a low-temperature environment of -10 ℃, the capacity retention rate is ≥85%, avoiding a sudden drop in battery life caused by low temperatures. Meanwhile, the battery cell casing is coated with a waterproof and moisture-proof layer to meet the usage requirements in damp areas such as bathrooms (with a protection level of IP54).
Safety certification standards: The battery pack has passed domestic and international safety certifications such as UN38.3, CE, and GB31241-2014. The battery cells possess six major protection capabilities: overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, short circuit, compression, and puncture, effectively avoiding the risks of fire and explosion from the source.
Security guarantee system
(1) Production and Quality Inspection
The battery cells are selected from first-line brands (such as CATL and BYD). Each batch of battery cells undergoes sampling testing (capacity, voltage, cycle life), and the pass rate must reach 100%.
The production process of battery packs adopts an automated assembly line. Key procedures (welding, packaging) are monitored throughout the process. The finished products need to pass 100% aging tests (fully charged and discharged three times at 45℃), drop tests (dropped from a height of 1.2 meters onto a cement floor), and waterproof tests (immersed in 1 meter of deep water for 30 minutes) to ensure product stability.
(II) Protection of Usage scenarios
Anti-misoperation design: The charging interface adopts an anti-reverse insertion structure to prevent users from inserting the charging cable in reverse and causing a short circuit. When charging, the device‘s display screen shows an animation saying "Charging in progress" to prevent the elderly from repeatedly plugging and unplugging.
Environmental risk response: In response to the damp environment of the bathroom, the battery module shell is made of flame-retardant ABS material and coated with a waterproof layer on the surface. Additionally, when installing the equipment, it is recommended to place the battery module at least 50cm above the ground to prevent water accumulation on the ground from soaking it.
Emergency response plan: A "Battery Safety Manual" is included with the device, detailing the handling methods for abnormal battery conditions (such as bulging and overheating). Meanwhile, the customer service team is on standby 24 hours a day. If users encounter battery-related issues, they can call the customer service hotline at any time for guidance. If necessary, professional personnel will be arranged to handle the situation on-site.
